All marriages have struggles. All duty has a price. All love has its limits...
Lillian White thought she understood sacrifice as a military spouse, but nothing prepared her for the harsh realities that lay ahead. When she takes a job in public affairs at the local Army post, she's thrust into a world where appearances matter more than truth, and where her marriage to a soldier is both revered and tested daily.
Enter Colonel Jackson Cooper – charismatic, handsome, and forbidden. In his presence, Lillian feels an unexpected jolt for the first time in her life, forcing her to confront the cracks in her marriage and the unfulfilled longings of her heart that leave her drowning in a sea of uncharted emotions. But in a world where infidelity is an open secret and emotional casualties are par for the course, pursuing her feelings could cost Lillian everything.
As tensions rise in her marriage and new role, Lillian must navigate the minefield of military life, confronting the ugly truths behind the polished facade. When a series of adversities strike, she's forced to question everything – her marriage, her loyalty, and her own identity.

"Latasha suspensefully tells an intriguing love story while giving us a hard look into the life of a military spouse. From early on, I could feel Lilly’s internal struggle to become her own independent woman, build a career, feel cherished, and live life on her terms while staying true to a commitment she wished she had not made. I kept turning the page to find out if Lilly’s decisions about her destiny would ultimately bring her to true love and a successful career or if they would destroy everything she had already built."
